We're extremely sorry for not posting in months but here's a chapter for those who still want to read our blog. Also, this is probably the longest chapter we have written so far.

Here it goes..
Meena: Baba, I need to talk to you about something.
Baba: What is it?
Meena: La never mind Baba. See you at home.
Baba: Ma3a el salama.
I hung up but I wasn't ready to go back home just yet, I had to do something to get this out of my system, and usually in situations like this, I would go to Abdulla, but he was busy now, so I decided to do something different before heading back home. I decided to go shopping in order to forget about reality for a while. While shopping, I ran into a childhood friend of mine, Miriam Al Flani. Before Dana, Maysa, Bayan and I were best friends, Miriam was, still is, one of my best friends.

Chapter 7:
I couldn't decide if I should tell my dad or
not, I know Baba has so much trouble in his life and I should know that hiding
this secret from us isn't easy. I have this feeling that this isn't the last
secret we would discover, but I'd rather feel my dad's pain instead of
him.
Miriam looks like a typical Arabic girl, only
she doesn't act like one. She has long, thick black hair that reaches her
waist, and naturally tanned skin. Her eyes are big and brown that sparkle.
Miriam has a nose that suits her face perfectly, long and thin. She has a fit
body, not too skinny and not too chunky. Miriam doesn’t care about designers
and fashion isn’t the most important thing in her life. She doesn’t wear a
single drop of makeup, if she does, it would be a special occasion like a
wedding or party, and even then it would be simple, just some blush, mascara
and lipstick. She believes in the saying, “more is less”. Miriam is not judgmental
and she will listen to a person before she judges them. She is also open-minded
since she has lived abroad for quite some time, which is the reason we lost
touch.
I asked Miriam to join me for lunch and she
agreed.
Meena: I can’t believe you’re here! I didn’t even
know you were back!
Miriam: Hahaha, I didn’t tell anyone I was back. I
reckoned you were all gone for the summer.
Meena: Nope all the girls are here.
Miriam: We should hang out together soon!
Meena: Definitely. So how’s London ?
Miriam: It’s GREAT! I love it there bs, honestly, it’s
no Bahrain .
Meena: They say home is where the heart is, so do
you have anyone you’ve been meaning to see? ;) Other than me of course, e7m
e7m.
Miriam: LOL. Maybe, maybe not, we shall find out
soon.
Meena: Oooh Miriam’s got a crush.
Miriam: I never said so. Anyways, enough about me,
are you still with Abdulla?
Meena: Yup, and things have never been better. I
couldn’t ask for a better guy el 7mdilla.
Miriam: Aw, you guys are the cutest couple.
Meena: Hehehe, I know. How long are you staying here
for?
Miriam: I’m gonna be leaving on the second day of Eid
if I’m not wrong.
Meena: We’ve got time, I guess. Oh yeah, I’m moving
to the States this summer.
Miriam: YOU’RE KIDDING AREN’T YOU?!
Meena: I wish. It’s okay though, at least I’ll have
Abdulla. He’s moving as well. The girls are supposed to visit, and so
should you!
Miriam: Of course I will!
Meena: Before I leave, we have to have a sleepover
and it has to be the craziest we’ve ever had!
Miriam: Lazem! Anyways, I have to go now but I’ll
talk to you on bbm.
Meena: Bye babe!
I went home feeling better than I did. I’m
glad I went shopping because I got some new clothes, caught up with Miriam and
took my mind off that stupid file.
I went back home to see Dalia, my sister, and how she was dealing after the rough day we all had.
Meena: I'M HOME!
Faisal: Laish lazim you shout ya3ni Meena?
Meena: KAIFYYY
Talal entered at that very moment and laughed at Faisal and I's bickering
Meena: You guys wain Dalia?
Talal: Madree, ehya ba3ad 6la3at gabil shway
Faisal: Ee bas wain?
Talal: Madree
And at this very moment, Dalia chooses to make her famous entrance.
Dalia: I'M HOME
Faisal: LAISH LAZIM YOU AND MEENA SHOUT?
We all started laughing at Faisal's facial expression and made fun of how he complains too much about all the little things in life. It's moments like this that I love about my family.
Dalia and I decided to go upstairs to our rooms and talk about what happened today.
Dalia: So ana 6ala3t w I looked over the file w it's the exact location she told us she would be in, bas it doesn't mention ay shay about her having cancer or anything like that.
Meena: Y3ni baba and mama lied about mama having cancer? Laish?
Dalia: El9ara7a ana broo7y ma3arf but she didn't die min cancer.
Meena: Tra el9ara7a I don't believe this lai7een! Ya3ni why would they lie about how she died?
Dalia: There could be something on, you know. Mama did live in America before marrying Baba so maybe this has something to do with her past?
Meena: Yeah you're right, w el9ara7a we're not going to find out anything any time soon unless we ask or go investigate broo7na...
Dalia: Walla madree shrayach we leave this for another day?
Meena: Okay yalla goodnight!
I stood up and hugged my sister and left my room to doze into my dream world.
The Next Day...
I woke up startled from the dream I was having and picked my phone up since it was ringing...
Abdulla was calling
Abdulla: Good morning sunshine!
Meena: Morning!
Abdulla: How are you feeling?
Meena: Okay el 7mdilla, you?
Abdulla: I'm fine as long as you are. Shrayich we change this okay to a great?
Meena: Sure, what do you have in mind?
Abdulla: Come over and then we can decide if we wanna do something.
Meena: Okay. Gimme a few minutes and I'll be right over!
Abdulla: Yalla na6rich. Bye!
Meena: Bye!
I headed towards my closet and decided to wear a loose light black and white striped sweater with a pair of bright red jeggings. I then went to Dalia's room to let her know that I was going out. When I went downstairs, I found Faisal and Talal having their breakfast at the dining table. When they spotted me, Faisal started his usual questioning.
Faisal: 3ala wain inshallah?
Meena: Well good morning to you to!
Faisal & Talal: 9aba7 el 5airr
Meena: 9aba7 el noor!
Faisal: Yalla goolay, wain ray7a?
Meena: Bait Abdulla.
Faisal: Ay Abdulla ba3ad?
Meena: Abdulla our neighbor?
Talal: Yalla bawa9lich w asalim 3alaih. Mn ziman 3ana.
Meena: Okay.
Faisal: You're not gonna have breakfast?
Meena: Laa batryag mnak.
Faisal: Inzain.
Talal: Yalla bnamshy.
As we were walking over to Abdulla's house, Talal and I just talked about random things and then we got quiet but not the awkward kind of quiet but the nice kind of quiet. When we got there I pulled out my phone to call Abdulla to let him know that we were outside. A minute later the door opened and Abdulla greeted us.
Abdulla: Halla halla shlonik Talal mn ziman 3anik.
Talal: Halla wallah. Int ilee matyee 3ndna w ma nchoofk
Abdulla: T3arf imt7anat w 7ala
Talal: Ee wallah
Meena: A9lan 3adi, I like being ignored.
Abdulla: Haha. wla yhimich. Hala b Meena, shlonich?
Meena: Zaina el 7mdilla.
Talal: Yalla ana mashy.
Abdulla: 7ayak ig3d 3ndina.
Talal: El mara el yaya inshallah. M3a el salama.
Abdulla: Allah ysalmik.
After Talal left we headed inside and we sat in the downstairs living room. We sat down and Abdulla switched on the tv. That's when my stomach started to decided to grumble.
Meena: Nisait! 7addy yo3ana!!
Abdulla *while laughing*: Shlon nsaitay inch yo3ana?
Meena: Madri. Food is my one and only love!
Abdulla: E7m, w ana wain r7t?
Meena: Sorry to burst your bubble bs food is better than you.
Abdulla: Okay Meena.
Meena: Inzain ana gltlk ini yo3ana so you can feed me not just tease me.
Abdulla: 3ayal goomay msaween nutella crepes w fe strawberries w bananas.
Meena: Yum! My fave!
Abdulla brought me the crepes with the sliced strawberries and bananas on the side as I sat down on one of the high chairs at the bar.
Meena: You know why I love coming over to your house? Because you have such good food.
Abdulla: Mhmm. Our cook's the best.
Meena: How are you not fat?
Abdulla: Fe shay isma gym w working out to stay fit.
Meena: Ugh exercise.
That's when I remembered that I didn't tell Baba that I'm out, so I sent him a quick message letting him know that I'm at Abdulla's just in case none of my siblings told him.
We stayed in the kitchen until I finished having my breakfast and then we moved back into the living room. We spent most of the day there just joking around, watching shows, and catching up. At night we decided to take the car for a spin and grab some dinner. Abdulla doesn't have his license or his own car but it isn't so hard to get the driver's car. Car rides with Abdulla are the best. We blast the music so loud and sing, more like scream, our lungs out like a couple of drunks. After driving around for two hours we grabbed ourselves some dinner and continued dooring around for an hour or so and that's when we calmed down and lowered the volume of the music. We talked about silly stuff and this moment felt so perfect just like any moment spent with Abdulla. I love hanging out with him because he makes me forget all the troubles in life no matter how big or small they are. Abdulla was gonna drop me back home and then my phone started ringing.
Incoming call Miriam
I wonder why she's calling. I just saw her yesterday.
Meena: Hello?
Miriam: Hey Meena.
Meena: Hi there Mimi.
Miriam: Umm, Meena, I have to tell you something.
